ZELLERS OBITUARIES, Henry County, Missouri ==================================================================== ZELLERS, Arthur Allen 1910 - 1997 Arthur Allen Zellers, 86, O'Fallon, died Saturday, February 8, 1997, at Garden View Care Center, O'Fallon. - Arthur Allen Zellers was born on July 9, 1910, and died February 8, 1997, at the age of 86 years, six months and 30 days. He was born in Eunice, the third of five children of George Clayton Zellers and Myrtle Amy Zellers. At an early age his family moved to Urich area where he attended school, worked in farming and eventually met Ruby Frances Grasher. They married on December 18, 1935. Arthur and Ruby moved to Kansas City in 1941 where he began his 31-year career as an electrician. His work career culminated with his retirement from Sears & Roebuck in 1975 after 27 years of service. In November 1996 they moved from Kansas City to O'Fallon to be closer to their family. This is where Ruby currently resides. Arthur's career was interrupted by World War II where he served two years and 10 months in the United States Army Combat Engineers. He served in the European Theater of Operations where he fought in seven battles and was awarded six Bronze Stars for his service. Arthur and Ruby have two sons, Michael Lynn Zellers and Darrell Lee Zellers. Michael married Gloria Peterson and they have two children, Darren and Robin. Michael and Gloria reside in Ballwin. Darrell married Susan Fensom and they have three children, Erin, Audrey and Hannah. They reside in O'Fallon. Darren Zellers married Jackie Harrison. They have one daughter, Olivia, and are expecting another child. They live in Grover. Robin Zellers married Tim Lamberth. They have one son, Nicholas, and live in Jacksonville, NC. Arthur Allen Zellers was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Audrey and Luther; one sister, Anna Mendenhall, and one granddaughter, Sarah Zellers. He is survived by Ruby, his wife of 61 years; his sister, Lottie Prather of Fort Scott, Kansas, and both sons, Michael and Darrell; also by five grandchildren, Darren, Robin, Erin, Audrey and Hannah and two great- grandchildren, Olivia and Nicholas. Funeral services were held at the Vansant- Mills Chapel, Tuesday, February 11, at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Keith Hall officiating. Pallbearers were Don Mercer, Lee Pippin, Rick Engle, David Staples, Maurice McCain and James Prather.
