ZIMMER OBITUARIES, Henry County, Missouri ==================================================================== ZIMMER, Robert Sr. 1919 - 1991 Robert Zimmer, Sr. 72, Holden, died Thursday, September 5, 1991, at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg. He was born May 5, 1919, in Streeter, North Dakota, the son of Adolph and Elizabeth Fink Zimmer. He married Ethel Louise Giersch on October 7, 1941, in Hardin, Mo. She preceded him in death on December 15, 1987. He lived in Montana from 1939 until 1950 and then in Kansas City from 1950 until 1952 when he moved to Holden. He was a self-employed carpenter and retired in 1981. He was a member of Carpenters Union Local #53 in Warrensburg. He is survived by a son, Robert Zimmer, Jr., Holden; five daughters, Marilyn J. Hurt, Holden, Elizabeth Ann Brown, Holden, Karen Sue Bond, Warrensburg, Dixie D. Huffman, Holden and Becky J. Browning, Holden; two brothers, Milton Zimmer, Broadus, Montana, and Herbert Zimmer, Bigsby, Montana, and a sister, Emma Upgrande, Fargo, North Dakota; 16 grandchildren and 24 great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Roberta Mae Zimmer, and three brothers, Alvin Zimmer, Phillip Zimmer and Erhart Zimmer. Funeral services were held Sunday, Sep. 8, 1991, at Ben Cast & Son-Wood Funeral Home, Holden. The service was officiated by the Rev. Darryl Woods and the Rev. Robert Hoffman. Clint and Becky Vick sang "He Touched Me" and "Shall We Gather At The River" and Marlene Price was organist. Pallbearers were Robert Zimmer, II, Steven Huffman, Chris Huffman, Rusty Bond, William Hurt and Rod Hurt. Honorary pallbearers were Autie Huffman, Dennis Browning, John Brown, Sidney Hurt, Clayton Bond, William Carboneau, Glenn Alvin Calhoun, W. L. Terry, R. F. O' Toole, Albert Copeland and Bruce Ballard.
