There is a biographical sketch done on Joseph in 1883 indicating that they lived at that time in Henry County and I did manage to find them on the census in Springfield Township, but still don't know which town. Seems he had prettty itchy feet. Three daughters were born in OH (probably Darke or Shelby Counties) - Jane, Ann and Maggie. Two daughters were born in KS (probably Johnson County) - Kate and Nettie. Five daughters were born in MO (my info indicates that Edith was born in Benton County) so don't know about the rest - Lou, Lennae, Josie and unknown. BAIRD COLLEGE posted 5/24/00 Sharon Sumner SASumner5842@aol.com Does anyone have any information about an all girls college called Baird College in Clinton, MO? Recently my son bought me an old book in McAlister, OK. The book belonged to Sudie McAlister who was a student at this college in 1889. Listed in the book is the entire class of 1889, all 159 of them. Sudie McAlister married the son of the College Operators---don't know his first name. Sudie's father settled McAlister, OK and was an Indian Trader, State Senator and operated the McAlister Mercantile. The Mercantile turned antique shop had been in the McAlister family until last year when they sold it. The present owner found a box of books in the attic. She contacted the last owner and they didn't want them and told her to sell them. All of the books were Sudie's. The one my son bought for me is Gardiner's English History by S. R. ROSS - SHAMBURG posted 03/17/99 Carol CJ351@aol.com I am looking for information on Charley ROSS and Martha Alice SHAMBURG. They lived in Deepwater, MO where several of them are buried in K.P. Martha and Charley were m. in 1890 in Osceola, MO. They had 13 children which 4 died before Alice. Her parents were Frederick and Mary Jane SHAMBURG. HUNGERFORD - SHOEMAKER - WARREN posted 03/10/99 Yvonne Vares vareskin@hotmail.com I am researching my HUNGERFORD family and found they moved abt 1855 to Henry County, MO. Sad to find nearly all died by the end of the Civil War. Is there any records to tell me what happened to them? Are there any survivors left? According to the burial record of Lewis Hungerford (see Mullin Cemetery) he married. Were there children and who would have guardianship of them? Where would I get the records? ==================================================================== USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free information on the Internet, data may be used by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
