Breshears Jr., son of Wm. and Mary Jane Breshears was born August 8, 1859 in Texas, and departed this life March 9, 1940, at his home in Avery, Mo., at the age of 80 years, 7 months and 11 days. He was united in marriage to Ida May Ausburn, December 19, 1880. To this union nine children were born. Willie, Harvey, Marvin and Clemie preceded him in death. Those surviving with his companion are,Marion of Wheatland; Mrs. Lucy Ihrig, Everton, Mo.; Clyde, Modesto, Calif.; Mrs. Omer Cox and Mrs. Icel Button, Avery, Mo. Besides the immediate family he leaves 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Two sisters, Mrs. Rachel Murray and Sallie Harper, preceded him in death. He was left an orphan when only about two years of age. He made his home with his grandmother. He grew to manhood in the Breshears Valley and his entire life was spent in and near this place, where he made many friends. He was a devoted companion and father and a good neighbor and citizen. His friends were numbered by his aquaintances. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. James Mohler of Leeton, to a large crowd of sorrowing relatives and friends, Thursday at 2 p.m.. Interment was in the Brethren cemetery at Avery. Card of Thanks We wish to express our thanks and appreciation to our neighbors and friends for their many kindnesses and sympathy during the illness and death of our beloved husband and father, A. J.
