Fugate died Feb 28, 1901. The deceased was born in Shelby Co. Mo., 1837; was married to Edward Dye in 1853; to this union was born one son, W. R. Dye. Her husband, Edward Dye, departed from this life in 1854. Deceased then moved to Hickory Co Mo, where she was married to B. Fugate in 1856. To this union were born ten children; nine of whom are still living, one having died in infancy. Deceased was 64 yrs, 1 mth and 8 days old. All of the children, except one, Chas. Fugate of Muskogee, I. T., were present at the funeral services, which were conducted by Rev. Madison Reser of Urbana, Mo. He also conducted the funeral services of her deceased husband, B. F. Fugate, nine years ago. Deceased, mother and grandmother, leaves 10 children and 30 grandchildren to mourn her loss. By her death the children are deprived of a kind and loving mother, and the community of a good neighbor. Deceased had been confined to her bed for more than a year with a cancer, which slowly but finally brought death. She bore her affliction with great courage and fortitude and accepted death cheerfully. She united with the M. E. Church about 30 years ago, while Rev. George Wilson was pastor. She died in the triumphant faith of Christ; welcoming the hand that heals all wounds and soothes all pain and sorrow. May her relatives and friends live in that faith that they can hope to meet her on that angel shore where parting will be no more.
