Obituary  Ellison Abney, Sr.

Ellison Louis Abney, Sr., of Potosi, passed away November 1, 1993, in Georgian
Gardens Nursing Home, Potosi, at the age of 83 years, 10 months and 13 days. He
was born December 19, 1909, in Glasgo, Kentucky, to the late Walter and Bertha
(Huff) Abney.

He was united in marriage to Iva Louise Frazier November 17, 1930, at Goodwater,
Mo., and four children were born to this union.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one grandson, Robert
Payne, Jr.

Those who remain to mourn his passing are his loving and devoted wife, Iva Abney
of Potosi; two sons, Robert Abney of Potosi and Ellison Abney, Jr., and wife,
Tommie Jo of Festus; two daughters, Deloris Welker and husband, Gary of Arnold
and Bertha Faries and husband, Don of Arnold; one brother, Smith Abney and wife,
Hallie of Steelville; 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews
and other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services were conducted 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, November 3, at Britton
Chapel, Potosi, with Rev. Herbert Wiley officiating. Interment was in Lower
Indian Creek Cemetery at Viburnum, under the direction of the Britton Bros.
Funeral Home of Potosi.

Serving as pallbearers were: James House, Mark Abney, Brad turner, Mike Barr,
Jay Barr and Pete McCue.
