Obituary  Eldred Atkinson

Eldred J. Atkinson of Rt. 2, Potosi, Mo., passed away August 26, 1988, in St.
Anthony's Medical Center, St. Louis, at the age of 83 years, 7 months and 21
days. He was born January 5, 1905, in Harrison, Arkansas to the late Joseph
and Matilda Allen.

Eldred was united in marriage to Freta Marie Casteel on May 14, 1931, in St.
Louis, Mo., and four children were born to this union.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Elzie,
Jett and William Atkinson; three sisters, Ruby Patton, Alta McGraw and Lena
Nickerson; two grandchildren, Debbie Lake and Carol Arthur; one great 
grandchildren, John Arthur.

Those who remain to mourn his passing are his loving and devoted wife of 57
years, Freta Atkinson; one daughter, Mattie Lake of Potosi; three sons, Bill
J. Atkinson and wife Patricia of St. Louis, Frank Atkinson and wife, Virgie 
of St. Louis and Bob Atkinson of St. Louis; 14 grandchildren, 11 great 
grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends who will sadly
miss him.

Funeral services were conducted 1:00 P.M. Monday, August 29, at the Church of
the Nazarene in Annapolis, Mo. with Rev. Clarence Casteel officiating.
Interment was in Annapolis Cemetery under the direction of the Britton
Funeral Home of Potosi.

Serving as pallbearers were: Ivan Atkinson, Bill Atkinson, Phillip Evans, 
Bill Knowles, Jim Lake and Earl Wood.
