Biography of Joseph Gibson - Jackson County, Missouri According to notes of genealogy report by Mary Ann Williams Wassmuth, 1976: Joseph Gibson: Born July 25, 1804 Warren Co., Kentucky. Died August 17, 1845 near Blue Springs, Mo., buried in Lobb Cemetery near Blue Springs (near old Eureka School) Served in War of 1812. Came to Missouri in 1831 from Kentucky and entered farming. Owned 1,000 acres about 3 1/2 miles northeast of Blue Springs, Mo. Married Matilda Aden. Children were Amanda Aden Gibson born August 17, 1838- died Feb 6, 1918. She married Albert G Williams June 3, 1855 in Blue Springs. Other Gibson children were Susan and Joe. Jacob Gibson, Silas Gibson, and Joseph Gibson came and settled about four miles northeast of Blue springs in the year 1838. They were orginally from Kentucky. Jacob died-1849 with the cholera on his own farm. He owned one of the finest farms in Jackson County consisting of 630 acres. Joseph Gibson also owned a fine farm. The old homestead was later occupied by his son-in-law Judge Albert G Williams. He died many years ago, probably before his brother Jacob. Silas Gibson also owned and occupied a good farm. He died in 1860. These three men were considered good and substantial men.
