MORGAN WALKER FAMILY CEMETERY, JACKSON CO., MO Located on the grounds of the James Lewis Elementery School, on a small hill overlooking the school (about 34 or 40 yards from the school building). All of the original stones are gone (apparently stolen). There is an big old marker base left and two newer monuments, one at the entrance of the cemetery and the other a short distance away. There is a lot of glass from broken beer bottles. The monument at the entrance states 5 known burials with full dates.The other monument talks about how William Clarke Quantrell got his infamous Civil War guerilla start on the Morgan Walker Farm. WALKER CEMETERY KNOWN BURIALS: FRANKLIN, Sarah Jane dau. of John & Lucy Franklin born Oct.21,1837- died Jan. 5, 1840 WALKER, James Morgan died Sept. 7, 1866 age 72 yrs. 6 months 14 days WALKER, Polly wife of James M. Walker died Oct. 6, 1876 age 74y 6m 26d WALKER, Dudley son of J.M. & P.Walker died Dec.18, 1839 age 6m WALKER, Jefferson son of J.M.&P.
