They would have been living in Grain Valley in 1941 and 1952 according to a couple obituaries I have on Anna's relatives. I know Anna was 19 years old when she immigrated to the US with her 16 year old brother, Emil, from Svenskop parish in Sweden through the port of Malmo on May 4, 1904. They entered the US through New York. They probably stayed with their uncle, Peter Thurstenson (my grandfather) upon arrival in the US and that would have been Craig. Nebraska and possibly later to Anoka, Nebraska. I believe Anna had two other brothers who immigrated to the US (I don't have any info on when). One brother was Swen Anderson (b. 3/12/1880, d. 1/16/1952) who settled in Omaha with his wife Hannah. The other brother was Pete Anderson who lived in Lyons, NE. There were three other brothers still in Sweden. If Ben and Ann Benson had any children, I would be very interested in making contact with descendants. I have no indication that any children were born to these brothers or sisters. 1/2/1998 Bob & Tammy wildventures@adweb.net Quinon-Goldensteadt-Sherer. I am looking for death records of George Ann Armstrong. She apparently died before 1889. Also am in need of marriage information of George Ann Grady to George Armstrong. The individial George Armstrong is driving me crazy. He sold a grandchild's portion of land in Platte county MO in 1889. There were no grandchildren named Armstrong in this family. The only connection I can come up with is that George Armstrong married George Ann Grady and she died without issue. I had originally thought that George Armstrong was George Ann Grady, but the deed filed in Platte county, MO disputes that. The George Armstrong who filed the deed state that he was unmarried and single. Any ideas on how to solve this problem would be welcome. I have kicked this around for six months and still haven't come up with an answer. I haven't had access to the 1880 census for Missouri to check to see if I could locate George Armstrong. That will be the next thing I try to check unless someone has this information. Thanks for any help. 3/4/1998 unknown LEE1929@aol.com I am looking for the ancestry of Mike Gagliano in KCMO. It is believed that August was born near Liepzig, Grman, in 1841. A legal document in my possession dated 1868 and issued in Liepig suggests that August was born in Schonebeck. It is believed that August requested this document while he was in the US for naturalization purposes. An 1888 map shows Schonebeck to be just south of Magdeburg, Germany. It is believed that August immigrated to the US as a boy with his parents throught the port of NY. Immigration lists suggest that August arrived as a child at the post of NY from Bremen, Germany on the ship Hansa, December 9, 1852, with relatives (believed to be his father, mother, sisters and brothers). The Germany residence of the Heinrich Lohmann family given in the passenger list was Wolten. Wolten is believed to be misspelled and possibly should be "Woltem" TheHansa passenger list shows: Heinrich Lohmann, 46; Friederike, 43; Caroline, 14; Wilhelmine, 12; August, 10; Conrad, 7; Heinrich, 3; Wilhelm, 9 months. The connection of his arrival information to August Lohmann has not been verified. It is possible that August did not arrive in the USA until 1873. On October 20, 1873 in Philadelphia, PA, before the Clerk of the Court of Quarter Sessions August declared his intention to become a citizen. On February 9, 1888, in KC, MO, August was naturalized. August married Emma Marie (Ludvilke?) Schwechten was in KC, MO., in 1890. Other family documents indicate the existence of an "uncle" in Ohio (Schwechten?) in the KC area in the 1920's. Comment is also made about a Fritz (Schwechten?) being in IL, possibly Chicago, in the 1920's. August and Emma Marie Lohmann's children were Emma; Selma b: 1882; Anna b: 1884; Louise Auguste b: 1893; Catharine "Katie" b: 1886 and Wilhelm Heinrich - my father b: 1891, who in later years was aka William Henry. Place of birth of Selma is listed as Kentucky. Emma's age, place of birth an date of baptism are not known. She is known to be the eldest of the children. All of the children except Emma and Selma were baptized in St. Peter's Deutsch Evangeliche Kirche in KC, MO. Emma Marie died in Freestone county, TX in 1895. August died on January 13, 1909 in Dallas, TX. August is believed to have been buried in Freestone county, TX on a farm near Fairfield, Freestone county, TX. Other surnames acquired by August and Emma's daughters are: Herman L. Fry, W. T. Strange, John W. Rodell, Steve Mitchell. If you have any questions, please contact me.
