All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/mo/mofiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Bill BOGGESS http://www.genrecords.net/emailregistry/vols/00024.html#0005917 January 8, 2011, 4:30 pm Source: several Author: self `                  LOGAN   FAMILY        ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ An industrious twenty year old William Rozelle Logan (1858-1938) arrived in Carthage, Jasper county, Missouri from his birth state of Illinois in 1878 to be married in 1881, being a pioneer in the stone quarry and deep mining businesses, raising a family of five known children, becoming a corner stone of business and political life for his community.   His wife, Julia Mary Sennet (1861-1923), was a niece of Sarah E Pattison (1838-1915), second wife of Francis Marion McDaniel (1835-1903) whom their third son was named after.   "Will" was engaged in retailing, mining, stone quarry, banking, ice plant, building of buildings, state representative and once mayor pro-tem of Carthage, nine year president of school board, serving other boards also, was associated with most all well known names in town. He built their large stone home at 403 east Fourth street, currently in disrepair, sold September 2010 hopefully to be restored to its original state of beauty. His Carthage Stone Company was leased and his Carthage Marble and White Lime Company was one of several gathered together by George Busboom (1898-1930), and others, to form what became The Carthage Marble Corporation in 1927.   Their known children are all buried as they, in Park cemetery, Carthage: first born, James (1881-1940), was a part of his life of the quarry and a building contractor, Frank (1882-1938) was a long term Jasper County Recorder, with Mac (1885-1963) a deputy, both moving to Kansas City working for the Board of Trade, William jr (1895-1932) was with father's quarry, but farmed for five years east of town, north of McDaniel's Mill on Spring river which was passed to McDaniel's nephew, Samuel Oscar Morrow (1854-1934), later known as Morrow Mill until sold in 1976, Ruth (1897-1963) married and moved to Ohio, but both buried in Park cemetery.
