    SAMUEL C BOGGESS 

       CARTHAGE MAN, DIES

  Former Mayor and Prominent Res- 

   ident of County Beat Succumbs 

          to Heart Ailment

Carthage, Mo, June 27. ~~~Samuel C Boggess, 71 years old, prominent Carthage
resident for over 50 years and former mayor, died at 5 o'clock this morning in St
Mary's hospital, Rochester, Minn where he had been a patient the last several weeks,
suffering from a heart aliment and complications. 

    Mr Boggess was a former secretary-treasurer of Home Federal Savings and Loan
Association and was affiliated with the Boggess Insurance Company. He was a member
of the First Methodist church. 

    Surviving, besides the widow Mrs Fern R Boggess, is a daughter Mrs Edwin Hough
of Washington, D C and two sons, Luke J Boggess of Carthage and S C Boggess, jr, of
Clayton, Mo. 

    The body will be returned to Carthage for funeral service and burial and will be
received by Knell mortuary.
