Previously, she had made her home in Joplin with her two sons. She was born May 28, 1869, in Springfield, Ill., and came to Joplin in 1890. She had been ill since she suffered a broken hip last July. She was a member of the Byers Avenue Methodist church. Surviving are her two sons, Cameron Diehl, 604 St. Louis avenue, and Leo Diehl, 1617 Pennsylvania avenue; a sister, Mrs. Maude Cooper, 1902 Wall avenue; a brother, Frank Diehl of Hysham, Mont.; two grandchildren, the Rev. Kenneth Diehl, pastor of the Grace Methodist church, and Miss Donna Diehl of Joplin, and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon in the Steve Parker chapel, with the Rev. Lon Presley officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope cemetery. Pallbearers will be Junior Huff, Richard Patterson, Sterling Engle, Cramer Ulrich, Dewey Owens and Ray Barton. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Joplin Globe 12 April 1932 PLANS INCOMPLETE FOR BARTON FUNERAL Funeral plans are incomplete for Robert P. Barton, 45 years old, 1716 Wall street, a member of the firm of Barton & Law Plumbing Company, 1036 Main street, who died at 12:45 o'clock yesterday afternoon in Freeman hospital, where he had been a patient since April 2. He had been ill ten days. Death followed an appendicitis operation and resulted from pneumonia and complications. Born January 30, 1887, at Duncan's Bridge, Mo., Mr. Barton came here about twenty-five years ago. He entered the plumbing trade when he was a youth and had followed it all his life. He was employed by Thomas Comerford when he first came to Joplin and later went into business for himself. He became associated with Ernest P. Law in the plumbing business in April, 1921. Mr. Barton was a Scottish Rite Mason and a member of the Plumbers' and Steamfitters' Union. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mary E. Barton; two daughters, Mrs. Thelma Ulrich, 124 North Gray avenue, and Miss Beatrice Barton, at home; one son, Ray P. Barton, at home; a sister, Mrs. Susie Bean of Duncan's Bridge; a brother Arnold Barton of Detroit, Mich.; his father, Steve Barton, 1617 Pennsylvania avenue, and a grandchild. Barton, 43 years old, 1716 Wall street, a member of the firm of Barton & Law Plumbing Company, who died Tuesday in Freeman hospital, will be conducted at 2 o'clock this afternoon at the residence. The Rev R. M. Wolff, pastor of the Byers Avenue Methodist Episcopal church, will officiate. Members of Fellowship lodge No. 345, A. F. & A. M., of which Mr. Barton was a member, will conduct a Blue lodge service at the grave in Forest Park cemetery. Pallbearers will be Frank Ade, Fred Parker, R. P. Law, C. E. Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Cora Barton; a son, Arthur Barton of Venice, Calif.; two brothers, Lafe Barton of Cusing, Okla., and Fred Barton of Skiatook, Okla.; a sister, Mrs. Fred Labdie of Pawhuska, Okla., and two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Barton, a retired carpenter, was born in Clarence, Mo. He was a member of the Methodist church. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Dollie J. Barton; a son, Arnold Barton of Ypsilanti, Mich.; a daughter, Mrs. Susie Bean of Clarence, Mo.; a sister, Mrs. Sarah Wood of Laguna Beach, Calif.; two stepsons, Cameron Diehl of 604 St. Louis avenue and Leo Diehl of 1617 Pennsylvania avenue, and six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. BARTON FUNERAL TO BE HELD TODAY Funeral services for Stephen Price Barton, 88 years old, a resident of Joplin 50 years, who died Monday afternoon at his home, 610 1/2 St. Louis avenue, will be conducted at 1:30 o'clock this afternoon at the villa Heights Methodist church by the Rev. Lon Presley. Burial will be in Mount Hope cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Parker-Hunsaker chapel until noon today, and then at the church until the funeral hour. Pall bearers will be J.
