Mrs Claude T Shaver of Stevens Point, Wis, daughter of Mrs Wood, was called here last Sunday by the critical condition of her mother.     Mrs Wood, who before her marriage was Miss Emma J Howell, was born March 6, 1856, at DeWitt, Clinton county, Iowa. When she was a small child her parents went to Ohio to live. On June 24, 1873, she was married to George B Wood near Wheeling, W Va. Nine years later the couple came to Carthage to make their home, arriving here 14, October, 1882, nearly 53 years ago. Mt Wood, being a contractor, built a home on East Third street where they lived a number of years. They have long reside ar the home on South Main street. [built for G H Rose, early merchant, in 1899]     Besides her husband and the daughter, Mrs Shaver, Mrs Wood is survived by another daughter, Mis Laura Wood, assistant librarian of the Carthage library, and a granddaughter, Mrs Llewellyn James Walker of Hancock, Wisc. A nephew, Albert Conway of Garden Grove, Calif, and a niece Mrs R R Bogardus of Mason City, Iowa, also survive S C and Hale Boggess are nephews and Mrs Ed H Irwin is a niece.     June 24 had marked the 62nd anniversary of the marriage of Mr and Mrs Wood, but owing to the condition of the later' health no formal celebration was undertaken. Their wedding anniversary had been celebrated several times in previous years.     Mrs Wood had been a member of the Presbyterian church since early childhood. She was widely known and loved here.     Funeral services will be held at 4 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Knell service home, Dr Walter F Bradley, pastor of First Presbyterian church and Dr George F Harbour will be in charge. Burial will be in Park cemetery.           Additional Comments: Her local sister-in laws were Sarah Elizabeth (Wood) Boggess (1835-1918), Henriette Jane (Wood) Jarvis (1847-1928) and brother-in-law was Thomas Kennerly Wood (1842-1918) They buried an infant son, George B Wood, November 1885 in Park cemetery.
