D. KNIGHT              ~~~~~~~~~~~~     CARTHAGE MAN, 87, WAS NA-        TIVE OF ENGLAND               ~~~~~~~~~~    Father of Insurance Man Ill Two      Weeks --- Funeral Will Be              Tomorrow                 ~~~~~~~~~     Samuel D Knight, nearly 87 years old, passed away at 6 o'clock this morning at the McCune-Brooks hospital after an illness of two weeks.     Mr Knight was born May 23, 1844, in Calstock, Cornwall, England. He was married to Miss Ellen Luke in 1875 in England an they came to this country in 1907 with the late James Luke [1854-1925], a brother of Mrs Knight. Mrs Knight passed away in July 1923 in Carthage.     Mr Knight is survived by three children, Sidney Knight of Carthage, John Knight of San Juan, Texas [Hidalgo county], Texas and Mrs George Hocking of Combe Park, Cornwall, England; a sister Mrs George Martin of Calstock, England; six grandchildren. The late Mrs Sam Boggess was a daughter.     Funeral services will be held 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the Knell service home. The Rev John J H Wilcock, rector of Grace Episcopal church will be in charge. Pallbearers will be W C Roberts, Will Preston, Richard Cornell, L L McCord, Fred Richardson and Ed C Stone. Burial will be in Park cemetery beside his wife.     The body may be viewed at the service home from 10 o'clock in the morning until time for the services.               ~~~~~~~~~~~~             Addition Comments: Mrs J H Bailey sang "Crossing the Bar" and "Going Home", accompanied by Mrs A L Hardin at the services.
