HUSBAND OF SINGER DIES IN NEW YORK
Saranac Lake, N.Y., Jan. 23 - (AP)

Otto Krause, husband of Lotte Lehmann, concert soprano,
died here yesterday of tuberculosis while his wife was
speeding from the west coast to his bedside.  He was 55
years old.

The opera singer had boarded a train at Spokane, Wash.,
after cutting short a western concert tour when she
learned her husband's condition was very poor.  She was
in Toledo, O., when notified of his death.

Krause, who married Miss Lehmann April 28, 1926, was a
retired Austrian army officer and had been a patient
here since last July.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons,
Peter, Ludwig, Hans and Manon Krause.  Peter and Ludwig
were at his bedside when he died.
