S. D. KNIGHT, 77, DIES           ~~~~~~~~~~~     CARTHAGE WOMAN IN FAILING      HEALTH MORE THAN YEAR             ~~~~~~~~~ A Native of England, She Came to Carthage         in 1906 --- Was Sister of               James Luke             ~~~~~~~~~~     Mrs S D Knight, well known Carthage women, died this morning at 3 o;clock at her home on Wooster street, after an illness of year and a half. She was 77 years old.     Mrs Knight came to Carthage in 1906 from Cornwall England, accompanied by her husband, a daughter and three sons. She identified herself with the First M E curch and the W. C. T. U. in both of which organizations she was an active member. She was a devoted Christian and had been a member of the Methodist Episcopal church since early childhood.     The survivors are the husband, S D Knight, two sons, John and Sidney of this city, and two daughters, Mrs S C Boggess of Kansas City and Mrs George Hocking of St Dominick, England. A son, Fred [Alfred] Knight was killed in a motor accident, August 22, 1922. One brother, James Luke, of his city, also survives. A sister in Scotland died last March. She is survived by five grandchildren in this country and an equal number in the British Isles.     Funeral services will be held at 4 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the Knell chapel. Rev Dr W F Jones of Kansas City will have charge of the service. A quartet from First M E church here will sing. Pallbearers will be M P Fishburn, Byron Ash, Fred Richardson, J W Griggs ad H M Boggess. Burial will be in Park cemetery.
