Jasper County, Missouri Obituaries - Lucy Viola LAWS Joplin News Herald (defunct), Joplin, Mo. September 19, 1944 JOPLIN RESIDENT HALF CENTURY DIES Mrs. Lucy Viola Laws, 62 years old, a resident of Joplin 50 years, died at 4:30 o'clock this morning at her home, 316 East Fifth street, of a heart ailment. She had been ill one day. Surviving are two sons, Chester Laws, 3104 East Eighth street, and Lloyd Laws of Springfield; two daughters, Mrs. E.L. Dunagan of Shawnee, Okla., and Mrs. Gertrude Cox of Kansas City; her mother, Mrs. Emma Strother of the home; two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Cannon of the home and Mrs. Myrtle Wills of Los Angeles; a brother, Jim Strother of Kansas City; a halfbrother, Ed Robertson of LaGrange, Wyo., and five grandchildren.
