Jasper County, Missouri Obituaries - Cornelia Ann Merrell Joplin News Herald Dec. 21, 1942 Mrs. Cornelia Ann Merrell, 82 years old, died at 9:15 o'clock yesterday morning in Freeman hospital, where she had been a patient six weeks. She was born in Mount Vernon and had been a resident of Joplin for 58 years. She was a member of the Methodist church, and her home was in Oakland. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. R. M. Evans, 2020 Porter avenue; Mrs. Lee Kinney of Neosho and Mrs. W. R. McConnell of Baxter Springs; one son, George T. Merrell, Range Line and Zora avenue; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Funeral services are under the direction of the Hurlbut Undertaking Company.
