Rev A J Van Wagner performed the ceremony.     Mrs Knight is the daughter of the late W H Gibbs, the well known cashier at the Missouri Pacific who died about two weeks ago [9 Apr 1910], and for that reason the wedding was a quiet home affair. Only J McLain Gibbs, and Mrs J W Menefee, brother and sister of the bride, the former of Everett, Wash, and the later from Sedalia: Mr and Mrs S C Boggess, the later a sister of the groom and Mr and Mrs C W Thomas, close friends of the bride were present at the wedding.     Following the wedding the newly married couple boarded a car for Joplin to escape a characteristic send-off, which friends of the groom, who were on to his plans, had arranged for him. However, they returned to Carthage yesterday and have been receiving congratulations from their numerous friends.     Mr Knight is the son of Mr and Mrs S D Knight and also a nephew of James Luke, the millionaire mine operator of South Main street. who is now in Europe. He came to Carthage nine years ago from Calstock, Cornwall, Eng, and was graduated from the Carthage Collegiate Institute [while living with uncle James Luke]. For the past three years he has been in the employ of the Central National bank, where he holds a responsible position. He is universally liked in Carthage and has a large circle of acquaintances.    Mr and Mrs Knight will make their residence at 810 Olive street, for the present, which was the home of Mrs Knight before the marriage.    Mr Knight expects to buy or build a modern cottage in the near future for his bride.           ~~~~~~~~~~~         Additional Comments: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This was first of three marriages for Sidney Knight, (1883ENG-1960MO).
