She and her brother had lived alone and very happily in our midst for several years; but some months ago she contracted a lingering desease to which she finally succumbed. Miss Pullen was the daughter of James and Loretta Pullen. She was born six miles south of De Soto, on Dec. 20, 1856. She became a member of the Christian church on Sept 18, 1898. She lived a devoted christian life. She died Thursday morning, Feb 10, 1921, aged 64 years, 1 month, and 21 days. After a prayer at the residence, her funeral was conducted at the Christian Church by the pastor, assisted by Rev. Wilkinson, pastor of the Baptist church, of which her brother is a member. She was beautifully dressed, as she herself had planned; and as her friends viewed her remains, as she lay in the restful casket, she appeared as one asleep. She was laid to rest in a beautiful grave in the local cemetery. Many floral tributes were in evidence. One could but say of her "Asleep in the Arms of Jesus." Additional Comments: Elizabeth Pullen's brother is William Pullen. She is buried in the DeSoto City Cemetery, Jefferson Co., MO, alongside her brother, who died later that year.
