Biographical Sketch of Charles Carter, Johnson County, Missouri Post Oak Township >From "The History of Johnson County, Missouri," Kansas City Historical Co. 1881 CHARLES CARTER, born in Scotland county, Missouri, March 27, 1848. Daniel Carter, his father, was a native of Ohio, and carried on farming in all its branches. He removed from Missouri to Illinois when a small boy, settling in Stark county. In 1870 he returned to Missouri, settling on a farm in Johnson county. Was married to Miss Eugenia Irwin, daughter of J.H. Irwin, a native of this county. She died May 6, 1881. He has two children living: Freddie and Charles L. Mr. Carter is the road- overseer of his district and has been a member of the school board for three terms. Himself and wife were both members of the C.P. church; he holding the office of deacon at the same.
