Biographical Sketch of James A. Woods, Johnson County, Missouri Jefferson Township >From "The History of Johnson County, Missouri," Kansas City Historical Co. 1881 JAMES A. WOODS, farmer, Jefferson township, was born in St. Clair county, Illinois, October 17, 1837. He lived in his native county until his majority. He then engaged in farming. He was married, in 1858, to Miss Julia H. Abason of St. Clair county, Illinois, who died soon afterward. He was again married, in 1866, to Miss Margaret Tate, of St. Clair county, Illinois, by whom he has seven children, all living: Charley A., Lewis, Mauris, Richard, Katie, Lafayette, and Cora. Mr. Woods came to Missouri in 1868, and located in Pettis county.
