Gilbert Cemetery, Johnson County, MO

Located in Kingsville, Johnson County, MO
Take Highway 58 to T highway.  Travel south until you come to the road number 600 and turn east.  The 
cemetery itself is very difficult to find as it exists in a field, about a block up on the north side of the road.  It 
can be seen from the road but it is very easy to pass.

This cemetery is special to me in that the “Gilbert” it is named for is an ancestor of mine.  I am afraid though 
that I do not have all the dates.  My family believes that it was Washington Gilbert who donated the land on 
which the cemetery now sits, although it appears that he is not even buried there.  In fact, the only Gilbert 
that is buried there is Washington’s youngest daughter, Sallie.  And that is under her married name of 
McCaslin.
