Theodore A. Booton was taken by his parents to Knox county, Ill., when a child, and was reared to manhood on a farm, and educated in the schools of Knox county and Peoria. When starting out in life for himself he located on a farm near the home place, where he contin- ued to reside until 1872, when his health became very much impaired, and he and family went to California, where they resided one year. From that time until 1883 they resided in Illinois, and at the latter date sold their property and came to Missouri, taking up their abode near Lebanon, where Mr. Booton was quite extensively engaged in farm- ing and stock raising. He died on the 9th of July, 1886. He served three years in the Seventh Illinois Cavalry Regiment during the late war, and was severely wounded twice. His wife was born in Knox county, in 1846, and is a daughter of Asa and Mary (Gaddis) Haynes, who were born in New York and Pennsylvania, respectively. They located in Ill- inois in 1836, the father being still alive and a resident of Knox county, but the mother died in 1884, having borne a family of eight children, seven of whom are living: Margaret, Elizabeth, Clark, Ann, Nancy, Ellen and Charles. Ellen is the widow of Mr. Booton, by whom she became the mother of six children: Jessie, Clara, Minnie, Theodore, Louella and Leon. Mrs. Booton has a good farm of 290 acres, with 200 under cultivation, and also deals quite extensively in stock. Her husband was a member of the G. A. R., of Lebanon. He died of disease contracted in the army. ==================================================================== USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free information on the Internet, data may be used by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
