WHITSON CEMETERY, Laclede County, Missouri Whitson Cemetery is the family cemetery of Isaac Whitson, born circa 1805 in Tennessee, Died 1877 in Laclede Co., MO; it includes the graves of Isaac Whitson, at least two of wives and many of his children and their families. Family genealogist Stacy Willhoit (a great great great grand-daughter of Isaac Whitson) compiled this listing in October 2000, anyone who would like more information or who has further information on these families may contact her at mailto:witko1@worldshare.net. According to family sources, there are several Lost graves also in Whitson, both inside and outside of the fence that was placed there by Wilma Ellen Massey, et al. The only known Lost Grave at this time belongs to James Isaac Massey, birth and death date unknown, who was the husband of Nancy (Bowman) Chastain. The Whitson Cemetery is located on land that was once the farmland of Isaac Whitson. It is Southeast of Lebanon, MO, approximately one mile past Oakland, MO. The cemetery is laid out very strangely, no real rows seem to exist, just plots. But I have tried to create rows for purposes of this platting. The shape of the cemetery is a kind of deformed horseshoe, so I have used rows left and right from the entrance gate, and center rows for the back of the cemetery. All stones were read from left to right in each "row". Comments in brackets [] consist of actual wording on a stone, comments in parentheses () indicate an illegible wording or stone marker, comments in red surrounded by parentheses are added comments by the platter (Stacy Willhoit) to indicate further information about the person or location of the grave, spaces between bulleted lines in a row platting indicates a spatial distance between stones, and the letters "FT" indicate there is also a footstone for the recorded grave. 1st Row Left: * Four Marked Graves, all stones illegible 2nd Row Left: * Vina Whitson Aug 3, 1880-May 16, 1950 * John Whitson 1879-1938 [husband of Vina] (son of Jeremiah Whitson and Margaret Morelock) * Margaret Whitson 1847-1920 (Maiden name MORELOCK, wife of Jeremiah Whitson) * Carey Knight (died at birth, 1901; grand-daughter of Jeremiah Whitson and Margaret Morelock) * Jeremiah Whitson Jan 8, 1832-Mar 26, 1887 (son of Isaac Whitson and Cintiaha (Cynthia) O'Dell) * (Illegible) Whitson Mar 3, 1877-(illegible) 22, (1887?) * (Illegible) Bepew Jan 12, 1841-(illegible) * Virginia Addison Hampton Jan 12, 1923-Mar 20, 1990 3rd Row Left: * Eugene Piercy Mar 24,1927-Nov 2, 1985 (son of Lenora "Lenny" Piercy) * (Rock Marker) * (Illegible) Whitson [Died Mar 5, 1869 Aged 50 years 2 mos 5 days] * Louella McDaniel June 19, 1874-May 10, 1956 4th Row Left: * Elizabeth (Broyles) Aug 8, 1824-Feb 18,1896 [wife of Reuben] * Reuben Broyles Nov 25, 1818-July 25, 1867 (brother of Julianna Broyles) 5th Row Left: * Julianna Hyslip April 5, 1831-Aug 13, 1908 (Maiden name BROYLES, married 1st to Isaac Whitson, 2nd to Thomas Hyslip) * William Hyslip (illegible) (Apr 18, 1857-Dec 31, 1889; son of Thomas Hyslip and Julianna Broyles) * (Corner marker for Family Plot) * Amy Alice Dickerson Dec 14, 1894-July 12,1983 * Charles A.
