Lebanon Daily Record July 1986
The McCormick-Mizer reunion 100 family members and friends ejoyed good food and 
good times at Bennett Springs State Park on July 7.  Many came from a long 
distance:

 Farris Cantell and Virgina McCormick Cantell of Germany. Bob and Audrey 
Shumate, Rock Springs, Wyoming. Goldie Carr Reno, Nevada. Ruby Stalter of 
Canyon, Texas. Dorothy McCormick Bradshaw, Oklahoma; Neva McCormick, McPherson, 
Kansas; Deanna and Sarah Vogts, Canton, Kansas; Bud and Karla Taggert, 
Berryton, Kansas; Bill and John Reavis, Edward and Nettie McCormick Bocock and 
Bertha McCormick, all of Leroy, Kansas.

The Rev. Jesse Barber was asked to give the blessing before the noon meal.  
James Shumate retold the family story of how James D. McCormick and Luella 
Wyatt were married on Christmas Eve, 1893 by the Rev. R.N, Buck at Bennett 
Springs.

The rest of the day was spent visiting, telling stories and playing baseball.

Additional Comments:
I attended this reunion when I was just 14 yrs old.
