Biographical Sketch of Lafayette Burton, Lafayette County, Missouri >From "History of Lafayette County, Mo., carefully written and compiled from the most authentic official and private sources" St. Louis, Mo. Historical Company, 1881. ********************************************************************** Lafayette Burton, P. O. Greenton, Missouri. Was born in this county, and here raised and educated, and has made it his home. He has been running on the river most of his life, as pilot and captain. He now owns a fine farm in Greenton Valley, where he resides, and devotes his time to farming and raising stock. His father Jesse Burton came to this county in 1838, and lived here until his death. He was married in 1869, to Miss Jennie Price, of this county, and has two children, Jesse K. and Lizzie. His wife died August 27, 1876. He married again October 20, 1880, to Miss Blanchie Chinn, also of this county, and has one child, Vinie R.
