Biographical Sketch of Henry Brown, Lafayette County, Missouri >From "History of Lafayette County, Mo., carefully written and compiled from the most authentic official and private sources" St. Louis, Mo. Historical Company, 1881. ******************************************************************** Henry Brown, butcher, P. O. Odessa; is an Englishman by birth, a native of Bedfordshire. His early life was passed in England, engaged in the grain business. In 1871 he came to the United States and settled in Mississippi, where he remained for two years. He then came to Missouri and located in Johnson county, where he lived until 1879, when he moved to this county and engaged in butchering at Odessa. He has a good trade. In 1868 he was united in marriage to Miss Sarah A. Ellis, of Uxbridge, England.
