Biographical Sketch of Grimes H. Dryden, Lafayette County, Missouri >From "History of Lafayette County, Mo., carefully written and compiled from the most authentic official and private sources" St. Louis, Mo. Historical Company, 1881. ********************************************************************** Grimes H. Dryden, was born in Marion county, Ind., January 26, 1841, and came to Missouri the fall of 1846, and settled in Holt county, Mo., and in 1848, moved to Atchison county, where he lived until the fall of 1865, when he came to Lafayette where he has since resided, and now owns 100 acres of land. He was married April 21, 1867 to Eliza Ramey, her parents being early settlers of the county. By this marriage they have two children: Frank M. and John H. Mr. Dryden is a member of the Patrons of Husbandry, also of the Christian church. He enlisted in September, 1861, in Company B, 5th regiment under Col.
