Biographical Sketch of James A. Historical Company, 1881. ********************************************************************** James A. Emison, P. O. Wellington, Mo., was born and raised in Scott county, Kentucky, and is a son of Benjamin Emison, who came to this county and settled in Clay township in 1850, where he has since re- sided, engaged in farming and handling all kinds of stock. In 1851, Mr. Emison was married to Miss Robina Triplett, of Kentucky, by whom he has three children. His wife died in 1860. In 1861 he married again, Miss Mary Stone of this county being his second wife, by whom he has one child. He is a member of the Masonic order, and of the Grange. He is a member of the Christian Church. His grandfather was a revolutionary soldier. He is of Scotch-Irish descent.
