Flournoy, Post Office Bates City, Mo., was born and raised in this county and educated at William Jewell College, Liberty, Mo. In 1877 he graduated at the St. Louis Medical College, and began the prac- tice of medicine in this county. In 1879 he moved to Bates City, where he is now located and where he has a large practice. He is a member of the Baptist Church, also of A. F. & A. M. He is the son of Gideon and Sallie Flournoy (nee Owens) who came from Kentucky to this county in 1837.
