Alfred Ferguson, P. O. Bates City.  Was born in 1806 in Culpepper county,
Virginia.  In 1827 he moved to Ohio, and in 1867 to this county.  He
married Miss Peterson, who came from Virginia to Ohio, in 1818.  He has
six children living: Jonas T., Frank, Henry, Jacob, Alpheus and Eliza-
beth.
