Biographical Sketch of C. G. Historical Company, 1881. ********************************************************************** C. G. Ford, P. O. Greenton, Mo. Son of John R. and Caroline Ford. Was born in Boyle county, Kentucky. At the age of thirteen, he moved with his parents to Pettis county, Missouri, where they lived until the close of the war, and then moved to this county, and have lived here ever since. In October, 1870, he was married to Miss Sallie Beatty, of this county, formerly of Mason county, Ky. In 1861 he enlisted in the 2nd Missouri Cavalry, C. S. A., and served four years, surrendering at Columbus, Mississippi, 1865. Was in the battles of Pea Ridge, Iuka, Corinth, Farmington and many others. He is a member of the Christian Church and also of the grange.
