Biographical Sketch of James E. Historical Company, 1881. ********************************************************************** James E. Gladdish, P. O. Aullville, Missouri; son of Elijah Gladdish, was born in Warren county, Kentucky, near Bowling Green, July 22, 1836, and moved to Missouri with his parents in 1841. He continued with his father until 1860, when he went across the plains, being absent about five months. He then engaged in running a hemp factory in Dresden until 1866. In April, 1863, he was married to Isabella M. Burnell, of Boone county. By this union they have four children living: Edwin B., Sarah C., Charles H., and John G. Mr. Gladdish is a member of the Patrons of Husbandry, being a charter member of the third Grange organ- ized in this county, his wife is also a member. He is also a member of A. O. U.
