Biographical Sketch of E. A. Historical Company, 1881. ********************************************************************** E. A. Hawks, P. O. Corder, Missouri. Is a native of Pennsylvania, born in Stark county, January 12, 1834. While quite young his parents moved to Ohio, where he was raised and educated. In 1848 the whole family moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. There he learned his trade, that of a printer, in the Madison Journal. He then went to St. Louis, where he worked for the Republican, then for the Democrat. In 1872 he began editing the Manifest Reporter, published in the interests of the mercan- tile class, which he continued to publish until 1880, when he sold out and came to this county, settled in corder and engaged in the mercantile business, which he has since followed. In 1857, he was married to Miss Mary F. Martin, or Richmond, Virginia, by whom he has six children: Thomas S., Belle, Matie F., Henrietta, Leonard and Edward A. His father was a member of the A. F. & A.
