Biographical Sketch of Jacob A. Historical Company, 1881. ********************************************************************** Jacob A. Lyons, P. O. Bates City. Was born in 1835, in Carroll county, Virginia. In 1866 he moved to this county, and in 1868 was married to Miss Martha A. Adams, step-daughter of William Harris. They have six children living: Andrew J., Mary C., Noah B., Lulu M., William O. and Ora E. Mr. Lyons has twelve stands of Itailian bees.
