Biographical Sketch of Jacob A. Lyons, Lafayette County, Missouri

Jacob A. Lyons, P. O. Bates City.  Was born in 1835, in Carroll county,
Virginia.  In 1866 he moved to this county, and in 1868 was married to
Miss Martha A. Adams, step-daughter of William Harris.  They have six
children living: Andrew J., Mary C., Noah B., Lulu M., William O. and
Ora E.  Mr. Lyons has twelve stands of Itailian bees.  They have done
but little during the present year (1881), but in ordinary season yield
from 100 to 125 pounds of honey per hive.
