Biographical Sketch of William K. McChesney, Lafayette County, Missouri >From "History of Lafayette County, Mo., carefully written and compiled from the most authentic official and private sources" St. Louis, Mo. Historical Company, 1881. ********************************************************************** William K. McChesney is a native of Washington county, Virginia; born in 1837, where he was reared and educated. Came to Missouri in 1859, and settled at Mt. Hope, in Lafayette county, where he was engaged in the merchandising and dealing in live stock, grain, etc. In 1878 he went to Odessa and opened a hotel, which he is operating at the present time, enjoying a liberal shore of the public patronage. In 1859 he was marri- ed to Miss Fannie Latham, of Virginia. This union is blessed with seven children. During the war Mr. McChesney served for three months in the Missouri State Guards. He is a member of the Presbyterian church, O. S. Deals quite largely in real estate.
