Biographical Sketch of Robert P. Metcalf, Lafayette County, Missouri >From "History of Lafayette County, Mo., carefully written and compiled from the most authentic official and private sources" St. Louis, Mo. Historical Company, 1881. ********************************************************************** The subject of this sketch was born in Fleming county, Ky., May 4, 1832, where he spent his early life. In 1857 he settled in Missouri, Howard county, where he remained one year and then moved to Pettis county, re- maining eight years; he then returned to Kentucky, staying there one year; he then returned to Lafayette county, where he has since lived, and now owns 240 acres of fine land. He was married November 20, 1866, to Miss Lizzie Catron; by this marriage they have four children: Carrie C., John P., Robert F. and Christopher C.
