Biographical Sketch of James W. Historical Company, 1881. ********************************************************************** James W. Miller is a native of Augusta county, Virginia, born February 7, 1836 where he was raised and educated. Came with his parents to Missouri in 1854, and settled in Saline county, where he remained until the fall of 1861, when he moved to Lafayette county. In December, 1861 he was married to Miss Ella Ryland, daughter of Judge John F. Ryland, of Lafayette county. They have six children living, viz.: Mrs. Mary E. Littleston, John O., James W., Tacitus, Carrie and Xenophon.
