Biographical Sketch of Adam Reed, Lafayette County, Missouri >From "History of Lafayette County, Mo., carefully written and compiled from the most authentic official and private sources" St. Louis, Mo. Historical Company, 1881. ********************************************************************** Adam Reed, livery stable, P. O. Higginsville, is the son of Joseph Reed, Esq., born in Clinton county, Ohio, August 23, 1850. He moved to Miss- ouri in about 1867 and settled in Lafayette county, where he remained, working on the farm with his father until 1877, when he embarked in business for himself; locating at Higginsville, he established a livery and sale stable, in which he is engaged at the present time. August 18, 1880, he was married to Miss Sophronia Jennings, daughter of Rev. James Jenning, one of the old and prominent settlers of the county.
