In 1875, the trouble in regard to the compromising of the Lexington & St. Louis railroad bonds coming up, he, with his associate judges, resigned office. Judge Stunkle favored a compromise, his plan being to have a committee of the people to wait upon the bondholders and secure as favorable an adjustment of the difficulty as possible. The judge and family are all members of the Lutheran church and are held in high estimation by all who know them. ==================================================================== USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free information on the Internet, data may be used by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
