Biographical Sketch of E. Bee Small, Lafayette County, Missouri >From "History of Lafayette County, Mo., carefully written and compiled from the most authentic official and private sources" St. Louis, Mo. Historical Company, 1881. ********************************************************************** E. Bee Small, merchant, P. O. Dover. Was born September 18, 1861, in Wood county, West Virginia. Was raised and educated there. His father being proprietor of a hotel in Lubeck, he was engaged in that for a time, acting in the capacity of clerk. He spent two years in Oxford, Dodridge county, clerking for a merchant of that place, named Ephraim Bee. He then returned home and worked on a farm for a time. In Decem- ber, 1879, he came to this state and county, stopping first in Higgins- ville, working for different parties, finally locating at Dover, where he is now employed learning the tinner's trade. His father is a native of California, going to Virginia when a young man.
