Biographical Sketch of B. Vanarsdall, Lafayette County, Missouri >From "History of Lafayette County, Mo., carefully written and compiled from the most authentic official and private sources" St. Louis, Mo. Historical Company, 1881. ********************************************************************** B. Vanarsdall, was born in Boyle county, Kentucky, August 15, 1833. He spent his early life in his native state until he was 20 years old; in 1856 he came to Missouri, and first settled in Howard county, where he remained about one year; from there he moved to Saline, and soon after to Lafayette, and subsequently returned to Saline, where he remained until the spring of 1876, when he returned to this county, and now owns 290 acres of land, and follows farming and stock raising. In 1856 he married Miss Sallie Houchins, a native of Kentucky; they have eight children: Mollie J., John W., Sallie A., Thomas J., Minnie, Whitford B., William E. and Tilda.
