Officating at the service was the Rev. Dr. Cassius E. Street, former pastor of the Linwood Methodist Church, where Mr. Kinnamon had placed his membership, after moving to Kansas City 24 years ago. Virgil Woodside, soloist sang, "How Great Thou Art," "Jesus Savior Pilot Me," and "The Lord's Prayer." Graveside services were held at the Odessa Cemetery. Russell B., third child in the family of four of Sherman and Anna Hitchings Kinnamon, was born August 27, 1896, on a farm two miles southeast of Odessa. He received his education in the Starr Rural School. At an early age he united with the Methodist Episcopal Church, where he was faithful in attendance at all of its services and served as Sunday School Superintendent for 12 years. He responded to the call of this county in World War I, serving until the signing of the Armistice. After being honorably discharged he returned home to the occupation of farmin, later turning to salesmanship, which he continued until his health failed in October, 1961. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Geneva Kinnamon of the home in Kansas City; a son, Russell Howard Kinnamon, Raytown; five daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Hildebrand, Hayward, Calif., Mrs. Rose Ellen Carter, Ft. Worth, Tex., Mrs. Marjorie Round and Mrs. Marie Fizhugh, both of Fayette and Mrs. Carol Ann Branic, Peculiar; a step-son John B. Sims, Kansas City; two sisters, Mrs. Charles Pallette and Mrs. Homer Seuser, Odessa and 16 grandchildren. He was proceded in death in 1939 by a son, Roger M. Kinnamon.
