Deer Ridge Community Methodist Church Cemetery, Lewis County, Missouri I live in Baton Rouge, LA...but have photographs of my ancestors' tombstones in old Deer Ridge Community Methodist Church Cemetery not far from Canton. (I understand this old Church is no longer standing but have picture of it) and that there is a newer Methodist Church.) In 1960 when photographs taken were the following inscriptions: Daniel Weidner b. Feb. 17, 1791, d. April 13, 1863. His wife, buried beside him was Ann Reed, b. Dec. 22, 1796, d. Dec. 31, 1868. Those old tombstones were beginning to crumble in 1960...dont even know if they still exist. Just for the record: Daniel was b. PA, desc. from Johannes Weidner who entered port of Philadelphia 1735 aboard "Alexandria & Ann." Ann Reed was b. PA, desc. from John Jacob Reith , entered NY 1710 aboard ship "Midfort". The name was anglicized in two generations to Reed. As I mentioned, those old tombstones were in poor condition even in 1960, Daniel's was tilted, stain-darkened but readable, and Ann's had fallen flat on ground, but still readable. Thought you might like to have record of the inscriptions. They were early pioneers of Lewis County.
