Deed

This Indenture made & entered into this 17th day of February 1852 between 
Willis G. Brown & Mary Jane Brown his wife of the first part & Shelton T. 
Shouse of the second part, all of the county of Lewis State of Missouri.  
Witnesseth the party of the first part have this day bargained sold & do by 
these presents grant bargain sell convey & confirm all the right title & 
interest in the following described real estate lying & being in the County of 
Lewis unto the party of the second part & known & designated as follows the 
one ninth part of the South East quarter of Section four township sixty of 
range six for & in consideration of the sum of one hundred & forty two dollars 
& twenty cents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged by the party of the 
first part, the party of the first part for themselves their heirs executors 
or administrators do agree that the party of the second part to have & to hold 
the one ninth part of said real estate with all the privileges appertenances 
thereunto belonging or appertaining for ever.  Now the party of the first part 
for themselves their heirs do warrant and defend the right title & interest in 
said real estate against the claim or claims of every person except the party 
of the second part it being the one ninth part.  In testimony we have here set 
our hands & affixed our seals the day & year aforesaid.

County of Lewis
On this 17th day of February 1852 personally appeared Willis G. Brown & Mary 
Jane Brown his wife both personally known to the undersigned one of the 
Justices of the county court within & for said county to be the persons whose 
names are subscribed to the within Deed as parties thereto this day appeared 
before me & acknowledged that they executed and delivered the same as their 
voluntary act & deed for the uses & purposes therein contained & the said Mary 
Jane Brown being by me made acquainted with the contents of said deed 
acknowledged on an examination apart from her said Husband that she executed 
the same & relinquishes her dower in the real estate therein mentioned freely 
& without compulsion or undue influence of her said Husband.  Taken & 
certified.  Given under my hand the day & year aforesaid.
