J. C. Jones, Trustee to W. G. Brown
Deed

This Indenture made and entered into this April seventeenth in the year of Our 
Lord one thousand Eight Hundred and fifty four by and between Judson C. Jones 
Trustee of the estate of John Norris dec'd in the county of Lewis and State of 
Missouri and Willis G. Brown of the same county and State aforesaid, 
Witnesseth that whereas the Circuit Court at its September term in the year 
1853 decreed that Judson C. Jones proceed to sell as trustee of John Norris 
dec'd & in behalf of Kesiah & Joyce of Colter and others interested in said 
Estate the South East fourth of the South East Quarter of Section Nine in 
Township Sixty of Range Six West in the county of Lewis and whereas the said 
Trustee having Given the notice required by Law and on the day appointed in 
front of the court House door in the Town of Monticello while the Circuit 
Court was in Session I offered the Said Real Estate for sale at public auction 
and there Sold the same to the said Willis G. Brown at and for the Sum of 
Eighty five 85 Dollars being the highest and best bidder.  Now therefore I the 
said Judson C. Jones Trustee as aforesaid for and in consideration of the Sum 
of Eighty five Dollars ($85) to me paid by the Said Willis G. Brown the 
receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have given granted bargained and Sold 
and by these presents do give grant bargain and Sell unto the said Willis G. 
Brown his heirs and assigns forever the before described Land & Real estate To 
Have and to Hold the same with all and singular the privileges and 
appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the said John Norris dec'd [should be 
Willis G. Brown] his heirs and assigns forever.  In Witness whereof I have 
hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year above written.

Be it remembered that on the 27th day of April 1854 personally appeared Judson 
C. Jones who is personally known to the undersigned a Justice of the peace in 
& for said County of Lewis to be the person whose name is Subscribed to the 
within Deed of Conveyance and acknowledged the same to be his own act & Deed 
for the purposes therein contained.
