Edith Montgomery
   Martha Edith Montgomery, 100, Brookfield, died Monday morning, Dec. 26, 1994
at Brookfield Nursing Center.
   She was born Jan. 30, 1894, in Linn County near Shelby, daughter of Matthew
and Anna (Lambert) Buswell.  She and Guy Montgomery were married May 15, 1912. 
He died April 9, 1962.  Mrs. Montgomery was a homemaker and a member of Bear
Branch United Methodist Church.  Surviving are two daughters, Velma Collier and
Wynona Lamber, both of Brookfield; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ross and
Bernice Montgomery, Purdin and Edward and Williadean Montgomery, Linneus; eight
grandchildren, one step grandson, 16 great-grandchildren; eight step
great-grandchildren; 15 great, great-grandchildren; 14 step great,
great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
   She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons-in-law, George Collier and
Nile Lamber; six brothers and four sisters; a great-granddaughter, Julie Hoepner
and twin great-grandsons.
   Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, 1994, at Bear Branch United
Methodist Church, with the Rev. Billy W. Hines officiating.  Burial will be in
Bear Branch Cemetery.  Visitation is in progress and the family will receive
friends from 6 to 8 pm.m today, Tuesday, Dec. 27, 1994 at Wright Funeral Home,
Brookfield.  Memorials may be made to the church or the cemetery.
