Haynes of the County and State aforesaid of the second part. Witnesseth that the said Robert Knox and Joannah Knox his wife for and in consideration of the sum of fifty dollars to them in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged do hereby grant vargain sell convey and confirm unto the said John S Haynes his heirs and assigns forever all of the following tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Livingston and State of Missouri towit, the East side of east half of the North West quarter of Section No twenty five (25) in township No Fifty six (56) of Range No twenty five (25) containing thirty seven acres in the district of lands sold at Plattsburg Missouri containing thirty seven acres together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining to have and to hold the above described premises unto the said John S Haynes his heirs and assigns forever and the said Robert Knox and Joana Knox his wife the aforesaid premises unto the said John S Haynes his heirs and assigns forever against the claim or claims of all and every person or persons whomsoever do and will warrant and forever defend by these presants In witness whereof the said Robert Knox and Joannah Knox his wife of the first party have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year above written signed sealed and delivered in presance of: Nancy E G Knox Robert Knox (seal) Betsey Foster Joanna Knox (seal) X her mark State of Missouri Livingston County Be it remembered that on this fifth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty three before me a Justice of the Peace within and for the County of Livingston aforesaid personally came Robert Knox and Joanna Knox his wife both personally known to me to be the persons whose names are subscribed to the above instrument of writing and severally acknowledged the same to be their act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned she the said Joanna Knox being by me first made acquainted with the contents of the same was examined separate and apart from her husband acknowledged that she executed the said deed and relinquished her dower to the lands and tenaments therein mentioned voluntarily freely and without compulsion or undue influence of her husband taken and certified the day and year above written.
